1. Avoid Street Shoes inside your House:

No street shoes in the house is the oldest trick in the book. Stopping dirt, grass, dust, and other unwanted particles at the front entrance is the easiest method to keep them off your clean flooring.  Isn’t it better to stop the dirt at the door than cleaning it up later?

In a 2017 research, Clostridium difficile, a germ that can cause diarrhoea, fever, and renal failure, was detected in 24.6 percent of shoes. Protecting your laminate floors against it is also protecting yourself.

Set aside cubbies for your street shoes and have slippers accessible for indoor use.

  1. Protect your Laminate Floor against High Foot-Traffic:

Even if you keep the majority of the filth and grime outside the door, frequent traffic can wear down your floors. Long-term wear will become more of a concern as your family develops and your children become older.

You can cover the sections of your laminate floor that get the most traffic to avoid bumps and dents over time, with:

  1. Rugs:

Rugs can be a fashionable and practical solution to protect laminate flooring in high-traffic areas. They are easy to maintain and protect your flooring from both heavy foot-traffic and heavy furniture. This form of security is ideal for use in the living room, dining area, or bedroom.

  1. Doormats:

These mats protect the parts of your laminate floor that gets the most foot traffic: the entrances. Mats on both sides of your door will also collect any dirt that makes its way through the entrance.

  1. Runners:

Runners are an excellent technique to safeguard your laminate floor in the hallways. While most people only consider coverings in their living rooms and bedrooms, corridor flooring requires the same level of protection as any other area in the house.

Tip:  Anything with rubber padding on the bottom should be avoided. Laminate flooring can be damaged by rubber.

  1. Protect your Laminate Floor from Furniture:
  1. Rugs protect laminate floors from heavy furniture, just as they protect high-traffic areas of your home. Any layer of padding between the legs of your furniture and your lovely laminate floors, thick or thin, will help.

  1. Because a high concentration of weight can leave ugly markings on your floor, furniture coasters can also be used to distribute the weight.

  1. Likewise, chair booties are a wonderful choice for laminate flooring. The booties make moving furniture around a lot easier, and they do not scratch or dent your laminate floors.

  1. Keep your Laminate Floor clean:

Keeping the flooring clean is the simplest way to make and type of flooring last. The method of cleaning varies from floor-to-floor, but lucky for you, we have already covered the process of cleaning laminate floors in detail in our previous blog here.
